This week in Detroit, Donald Trump once again attempted to reset his campaign with promises by his allies that he would “pivot” away from regular displays of erratic behavior and making divisive comments that demonstrate he is unfit to be president of the United States. But no matter how many timesTrump’s allies promise that we’ll see a new Donald, it just becomes clearer that there is no other Trump. In what would now be considered par for the course, Donald Trump has been caught in yet another lie. In an article published on Tuesday, The Washington Post examined the Republican nominee’s charitable giving versus what he has promised to donate in recent years. Aside from his well-publicized struggles with giving to veterans, the Post found that in the past 10 years Donald Trump has promised to donate up to $8.5 million to various charitable organizations. In actuality, his donations totaled $6-10,000, a number smaller than the cost for some to attend the vaunted Trump University.

In New Hampshire this week, Jeb Bush remarked that Americans “need to work longer hours.” DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz remarked, “If Jeb Bush thinks the answer to boosting our economy is that Americans need to work longer hours, then it’s clear he doesn’t even understand the problem.
